altona Diagnostics Canada Medical Student Research Award
The goal of the altona Diagnostics Canada Medical Student Research Award is to provide support for medical students who are interested in research in infectious diseases and microbiology.
An award of $5,000 for an 10-12 week summer research term, or for a research project performed intermittently over the course of one academic year. Adjudication is by a selection committee and will be competitive based on academic achievement, research potential or experience, and mentor acceptance.
Eligibility requirements:
- The student must be enrolled in an undergraduate medical program in a Canadian University and must be in good standing.
- The award is open to first, second and third year students.
- Commitment to an 10-12 week summer research term, or for a research project performed intermittently over the course of one academic year.
- Research area must be relevant to the diagnosis, treatment or prevention of infectious diseases.
